Introduction:
Sodium hypochlorite (Naclo)solution is an aqueous solution of sodium hypochlorite. It is a slightly yellow solution with a very pungent smell and is extremely unstable. It is a chemical product commonly used in the chemical industry. Sodium hypochlorite solution is mainly used for disinfection, sterilization and water treatment.

Applications:
- Used for bleaching of pulp, textiles, chemical fibers and starch.
- Used as a bleaching agent for oils and fats in the soap industry.
- Used to produce hydrazine hydrate, monochloramine and dichloramine. Also used to make chlorinating agents for cobalt and nickel.
- Used as a water purifier, bactericide and disinfectant in water treatment.
- Used in the dye industry to make sapphire sulfide.
- Used in the organic industry to make chloropicrin and a detergent for acetylene produced by hydration of calcium carbide.

Storage:
Store in a cool, well ventilated area, out of direct sunlight. Store in a dry location away from heat. Keep away from incompatible materials. Keep containers tightly closed. Do not store in unlabeled or mislabeled containers. Relieve pressure in containers weekly. Do not freeze. Avoid temperatures greater than 70 Deg. F. Product degrades more rapidly with increasing temperature.

Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Use with adequate ventilation. Do not swallow. Avoid breathing vapors, mists, or dust. Do not eat, drink, or smoke in work area. Wash thoroughly after handling.
Empty containers retain product residue (vapor, dust, or liquid) and can be dangerous. DO NOT pressurize, cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind, or expose such containers
